The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is Break the Bias.
At Swellaway our business straddles the worlds of sport and science, two industries that have historically been male dominated.
Thankfully over the years times have changed and there has been a lot more equal representation. In 2021 35% of higher education students studying STEM courses were female, an increase of 10% in the last decade.
To mark International Women’s Day, we spoke to Dr Jill Alexander, one of the key academic advisors involved in the development of the ProMOTION EV1, to find out more about her experiences as a woman working in sports therapy, and the opportunities for anyone thinking of entering the industry.
