Our guidance for Doctors and Surgeons

ProMOTION EV1 for Doctors and Surgeons

ProMOTION EV1 is a cutting-edge device, designed to tackle the key challenges faced with soft tissue rehabilitation and recovery from surgery. The product can also be used for other applications such as hot/cold massage, prehab and preparation for surgery.

Read on to discover why this innovative therapy product could be the perfect tool to support pain management, soft tissue rehabilitation and post-surgery recovery, both during and outside of clinic hours.

Therapy for all Stages of Healing

Offering cooling, contrast and heat therapy all in one device, ProMOTION EV1 works for every stage of the healing process.

ProMOTION EV1’s cooling application can be set from 6 to 15 degrees – the optimal temperature range to apply in the acute phase of an injury for reducing inflammation and pain relief.

When the patient starts moving out of the initial acute stages of injury, where the inflammation is beginning to stop, ProMOTION’s contrast therapy can be used. The cooling will help to control any ends of the inflammatory stage that’s occurring, while the heat therapy helps with proliferation, maximising the tissue pliability.

Contrast therapy is typically this is done through cold and warm water immersion, but with ProMOTION EV1 there is no need for water.

When the patient is moving out of the proliferation stage into the remodeling stage of healing, applying heat can aid with the alignment and pliability of those tissues to make them stronger.

Heat application may also typically be prescribed for chronic pain such as lower back pain.

ProMOTION EV1 heats to the optimal 38 – 40 degrees temperature range in seconds and can maintain this temperature throughout the treatment. For deeper tissue injuries applying compression will allow those deeper tissues to get the therapeutic effect.

Why Use Targeted Cryotherapy

Evidence supports the use of cryotherapy as a short-term pain relief for acute soft-tissue injury management, however short-term adverse effects to dynamic stability and muscle strength (up to a 16% reduction) have also been reported following ice interventions.

Clinicians are therefore advised to consider the potential increased risk of injury following a cryotherapy treatment when patients return to weight bearing activity.

New research has shown that targeted cryotherapy, such as that offered by ProMOTION EV1, has the potential to both provide necessary relief and minimise adverse effects, allowing patients to return to weight-bearing activity earlier.

Recommending cooling, heating and compression protocols

ProMOTION EV1 can be used for all types of soft tissue injuries, but is most commonly used for:

  • Hamstring injuries
  • Knee Injuries
  • Thigh injuries
  • Calf injuries
  • Muscle contusions

You can recommend the best course of treatment for your patient and set tailored ProMOTION EV1 cooling, heating and compression programs for them to use either under your supervision or at home between consultations. This allows them to continue their therapy outside of your working hours.

Data Capture

ProMOTION EV1 records device usage through a history log, which can be monitored and downloaded via the mobile app, to store in patient records and identify effective protocols based on clinical outcomes; a unique proposition in the therapy market.

Rental Service
